Obituary

Winston E. Frese, 92, of Ridley Park, died August 11, 2014 at Taylor Hospice Residence. Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Darby before moving to his late residence in September of 1950. Winn was the son of the late Aaron and Minna Horner Frese.

He graduated from Darby High School, class of 1940 and served in the US Army during WWII where he earned the Good Conduct Medal and European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 5 bronze stars. Winn was employed as a data processor for Sun Company and bowled with the Sun Oil Bowling League.

He was a member of Christ Church where he served on the Vestry and taught Sunday School. Winn was a member of the Ridley Park Seniors and worked with the stage crew for the Barnstormers. He loved golf and traveling, but most important was his devotion to his family.


Winn was predeceased by his brothers Norman Frese and Henry Frese.

Winn was the loving husband of Civita M. Gaul Frese, his wife of 67 years; father of Keith T. Frese (Sandra), Suzanne E. Higgins (Richard) and Raymond D. Frese (Elaine); also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.


Burial Rite and Eucharist: 10 AM Saturday at Christ Church Episcopal, 104 Nevin St., Ridley Park.

Visitation: 7-9:00 PM Friday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park and 8:45-9:45 AM Saturday at the church.
