William Henry "Bill" Wright, 90, of Ridley Park passed away on January 22nd, 2023. Bill was born in Garrett Hill, Pa on October 14th ,1932 to the late Thomas Edmond Wright and Rose Ann Bustard Wright. Bill attended St. Thomas of Villanova Grade school and graduated from Radnor High School, class of 1951.

After high school he enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean War in the 1st Calvary Division stationed in Hokkaido and Honshu, Japan where he was a 60mm gun instructor.

Bill was the past Commander (1971) and life member of 67 years of Norwood American Legion Post 507 and was inducted into the Chapel of The Four Chaplains Legion of Honor in 1973.

He then spent 37 years working for the Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central and Conrail; retiring as a Data Systems Manager in 1992. He bowled in the PRR League at 30th Street Station amassing several perfect 300 games with his 5-finger bowling ball.

Bill was an avid sports fan for all the Philadelphia teams and Villanova basketball as well as cheering his grandson on at cross country races at Rose Tree Park. He served as Commissioner of the Ridley Township Men's Fast Pitch Softball league and arranged for the All-Star Team to play Eddie Feigner's King and his Court. Bill was also an avid golfer posting a hole in 1 at the Bryce Resort in Basye Shanandoah City, Virginia.

He was predeceased by his 4 siblings: Thomas Edmond Wright Jr., Margaret "Pete" McCafferty, Mary Bunting, and John Bustard Wright.
Bill leaves behind his son Michael, Daughter in Law Regina, and Michael Jr, which served as his primary care takers. Another son Richard Norman Wright (Debbie) and a daughter Barbara Sarah Wright Serratore, as well as 8 grand children and 10 great grandchildren as well as countless nieces and nephews who could count him in for any celebration. Bill will be greatly missed by his dear family and friends.

Funeral Mass 10 AM Friday, January 27, 2023 at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call 9 to 9:45 AM. Burial St. Denis Cemetery.
