William J. Sekel, 73 of Ridley Park died December 28, 2015 at Broomall Health & Rehab. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of William J. and Mildred DiCicco Sekel and lived in Chester before moving to his late residence 50 years ago.
William graduated from St. James High School, class of 1960 and was employed by Acme Markets. He previously worked for the US Postal Service in Chester and Brookhaven. William was a member of the Church of St. Madeline and was involved with the Boy Scouts of America Troop #339 Leedom Estates for over 40 years. He loved gardening and was passionate about his model trains. Most important was his devotion to his family, especially his time with his grandchildren.
William was predeceased by his sister, Lois A. Woodrow.
William was the loving husband of Beverly A. Boyer Sekel, his wife of 53 years; father of Laurie A. Ware (Mark), William J. Sekel, Jr., and Lisa M. Hamrick (Bubby); grandfather of Mark W. Ware, Jr., Timothy W. Ware and Cassandra L. Ware, also Matthew R., Robert L., Jr. and the late Ryan M. Hamrick.
