William J. Sabol, Jr, 85 of Woodlyn, died on April 26, 2022. Born in Chester, he lived in both Parkside and Woodlyn for many years.
He was last employed at Sam & Sam's Meats, Inc. as a general manager for 20 years, retiring in 2017 and previously worked at Peter's Market, Southeast National Bank, Eddie's Café, and Brookside Clinical Laboratory.
Bill was a graduate of St. James High School, class of 1954 and St. Joseph University in 1959 where he earned a BS Degree.
He was a member of the Nassau Swim Club where he enjoyed swimming, sunning, and playing pinochle with his friends. Bill did many things in his younger years, including being a member of Chester Jaycees, coaching baseball, and teaching CCD at Our Lady of Charity R.C. Church in Brookhaven. Bill will be missed for his sense of humor, fun personality, awesome laugh, and amazing kindness.
He was the son of the late William J. and Marie Missar Sabol and brother of the late Rita Fritz and Dorothy Iacono.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Denise Burgese (Lou), Deborah Thompson (Brian) and Danielle Jaszczak (Rob); his twin sister Marie Hackstie and sister Clare Matlack; grandchildren, Harrison and Stephen Talbot, Haley, Liam and Riley Thompson, Claudia, Gianna and Michael Jaszczak, Tyler and Jared Burgese; and great grandson Parker.
