William J. "Popsi" Rottenberk, 85

Retired Printer for the Daily Times

William J. "Popsi" Rottenberk, 85, of Aston died July 29, 2011 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Rottenberk has lived in Aston for the past 51 years.

He was a printer for the Daily Times for 37 years retiring in 1988 and then was employed as a crossing guard for the Penn Delco School District and as a printer's helper at the Rose Tree Media School District. Mr. Rottenberk was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran and received the American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal. He was a member of The Church of St. Joseph as well as the International Typographical Association and American Legion Post #926. He enjoyed gardening and bowled in local leagues.

He was husband of the late Elizabeth A. Shields Rottenberk who died February 28, 1993 after 45 years of marriage, son of the late Thomas J. and Anna M. Callahan Rottenberk and brother of the late Thomas Rottenberk and Mary Jane DeFerino.

Survivors: father of Daniel T. Rottenberk (Donna) of Aston and Lawrence W. Rottenberk (Sherry) of Brookhaven, grandfather of Danielle Deady, Devon Bauman, Jay Rottenberk and Joy Pierdomenico, great-grandfather of Jay, Annabelle, Nicholas and A.J.

Funeral Mass: 10 AM Wednesday at The Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Road, Aston

Visitation: 8:15 to 9:15 AM Wednesday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Road, Aston.

Burial: SS Peter & Paul Cemetery
