Obituary

William P. Moore, 81 of Crum Lynne, died February 2, 2011 at Taylor Hospital.

Born in Clifton Heights, he lived in Darby before moving to his late residence in 1955.

Mr. Moore was a correctional officer for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 23 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church and the League of Sacred Heart.
He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp, serving during the Korean War, receiving the Naval Occupational Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Mr. Moore was a graduate of Upper Darby High School, Class of 1948 and an avid sportsman, playing minor league baseball for the former Philadelphia A's in 1948.

He was son of the late William L. and Elizabeth Kelly Moore and brother of the late Elizabeth Liberati.

Survivors; his wife of 58 years, Pauline E. Woodward Moore, children William P. Moore, Jr. (Joanne), Michael J. Moore (Carol), Teresa Ann Watkins (Tom), Joanne Pacanowski (John), Susan Anne Brown (Tom), Patricia Anne Leavens (Jim), Lawrence E. Moore (Shelly), Janice Burns (Tom) and James M. Moore (Megan), sister Joan O'Neill, also sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass;10:00AM Saturday, February 5, 2011 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Chester Pike and Simpson St., Eddystone where friends may call 8:45 to 9:45 AM. Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
