William F. Muhlberger, 93, of Ridley Park passed away peacefully on April 2, 2021. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he is the son of the late Frederick and Florence Starosta Muhlberger.
Bill was a graduate of Columbia High School and enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17. He served as a Seaman Second Class USNR during World War II. Afterwards, Bill completed an apprenticeship as a Tool and Die Maker at General Electric where retired in 1989. A "Mr. Fixit" he could fix most anything that came his way and was always willing to offer a hand to his neighbors, friends and family. He was a member of the Model Railroad Club .In his younger years he enjoyed bowling and playing volleyball at the Ridley Park Swim Club but most important was his cherished family and supporting his grandchildren's activities.
Bill was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Theresa A. Brennan Muhlberger; his daughter Kathleen M. Furlong, his granddaughter, Jena Marie Furlong. and his sister Florence Eichler.
William is survived by his daughter Bethann Muhlberger Scanlan (Rick); his son-in-law Thomas Furlong and his grandchildren, Lindsi Scanlan Norman (Garrett), Shawn Thomas Furlong (Amy), Ashley Nicole Chojnowski (Dr. Robert),
Jonbrennan Scanlan (Shannon) and Maura Delaney Scanlan. Great Grandfather to Andrew , Brigid , Keira and Henry
Services were held Wednesday April 7, 2021 and burial was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
