Obituary

William J. Lines, 87 of Eddystone, died February 13, 2012 at Delaware County Memorial Hospital.

Born in Mauch Chunk, PA, he lived in Nesquehoning before moving to Delaware County in 1942 and has lived in Eddystone since 1945.

Bill was a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 30 years, retiring in 1984 and prior to that worked at Congoleum Narin Corporation from 1944 to 1957.

He was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church where he served as a Lector and also with the Holy Name Society and was Past President of the St. Rose Seniors. He was also a member of the Cardinal Dougherty Assembly, Americus Council #242, Knights of Columbus where he was a Past Grand Knight, Past Deputy Grand Knight, Past Treasurer, and Past President of the Americus Club. Bill was currently a member of Peace Council, #4518, Knights of Columbus. He was past president of the St. Rose of Lima Bowling League and Past Chaplin and Past Vice Commander of American Legion Post #844. Bill was also a graduate of Nesquehoning High School, Class of 1942, a WWII U.S. Army veteran and an avid Phillies fan.

He was son of the late Raymond L. and Eva Roscoe Lines and brother of the late Raymond Lines and Patricia Segal.

He is survived by his wife; Sarah H. Watts Lines, whom he married in 1945, his daughters; Constance Lipschutz (Joel) and Sandra Allen (late Jack), his brother; Robert Lines (Elaine) and sister; Jacqueline Philips (late John) and his grandchildren; Chip Allen, John Allen and Karen Meyerhoff and his great-grandchildren; Sarah Sloan, Sydney Sloan and Samantha Allen.

Funeral Mass 10:00AM Thursday, February 16, 2012 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA 19022.

Visitation; 9 to 9:45AM at the Church. Burial SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
