William W. Korn, 86, of Ridley Township, died January 8, 2014 at Crozer Keystone Hospice at Taylor. Born in Ashland, PA, he lived in Philadelphia prior to moving to his late residence 60 years ago.
William served in the US Navy during WWII. He was employed as an electrician for Acme Markets Bakery for 40 years retiring in 1992. After retirement, he worked for 10 ½ years for Penn State at Great Valley.
William was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, where he was the Treasurer. He enjoyed woodworking, was an accomplished bowler and an avid Phillies fan, but most important was his devotion and love with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Lottie Derr Korn.
Survivors: his wife of 65 years, Jean M. Owens Korn; his children, William A. Korn (Marjory) and Peggy J. Donahue (William); his sister, Gloria Korn; his granddaughters, Ellen and Erin Donahue; also his great granddaughter, Riley Cassidy.
Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Saturday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 628 E. Chester Pike, Ridley Park, PA 19078, where friends may call after 9:00 AM
