William Raymond Kerr, 75, of Newtown Square, PA, died peacefully on January 30, 2024. He was born in Philadelphia in 1948 to Raymond and Dorothy Kerr, later growing up in Ridley Park, PA. He attended Cardinal O'Hara high school before studying Food Marketing at St. Joseph's University. He was an employee of Acme Markets for 46 years, starting in his local store as a bagger and working his way up to retire as a senior buyer.
In his younger years, Bill enjoyed golfing, reading, seeing live theater, and spending family summer vacations in Ocean City, New Jersey. In his later years, he and his daughter shared 3 wonderful trips to various National Parks and landmarks in the western United States. He enjoyed lunch dates with his siblings and dear friends Joe and Lynn. He loved to spend time with his grandson, Gabriel William, whose middle name is after his grandfather.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dorothy Kerr. He is survived by his daughter, Aimee (Dave), grandson Gabriel, sister Anne (Fred), brothers David and Dan (Teresa), former wife Cathie, 6 nieces and nephews, and 7 great nieces and nephews, all whom he loved dearly.
Bill was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend and will be missed every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 10:00 AM at White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park, PA, directly followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield. Donations may be made in Bill's name to Artman Lutheran Home Benevolent Fund, 250 N. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, PA, where he received such compassionate care in his final days.
