Obituary

William J. Hughes 63, of Upper Chichester, died on November 9, 2020.  Born in Darby, he was the son of the late G. Michael Hughes.

He attended West Catholic High School and served in the U.S. Coastguard.  Bill was self-employed at the Big Bad Wolf Barbeque in Aston.  He was a member of American Legion Post #926, Green Ridge Memorial. Bill was a selfless person who always helped others. He loved animals and cooking; but most important to him was his family.

Bill is survived by his son, Jacob Matthew Hughes; his parents, Helen Rumbarger Dittmer and Charles P. Dittmer; his siblings, Peggi Hughes McGrath, Stephanie Hughes (Mary Sue Mackey), Rhea Hughes, Michael D. Hughes and Richard E. Hughes (Jennifer); his step-brothers, Paul G. Dittmer (Debbie), Charles P. Dittmer (Mary Ellen) and David M. Dittmer (Michael); his stepdaughter, Chelseamo D'Alonzo; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; also, his beloved dog, Solomon

Visitation 9:00 to 10:00AM Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at St. John Fisher R.C. Church, 4225 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, PA 19061.

Services and Burial will be private.

No flowers please. Memorial gifts may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
