William G. Gieder, 94 of Woodlyn, PA passed peacefully at his home on October 2, 2022, and is on his way to a new journey.

Born in Philadelphia, PA he lived in Southwest Philadelphia (The Meadows) before moving to Ridley Township 50 years ago.

He was a carpenter for Moran Millwork and an Industrial Mechanic for Linde Air, retiring in 1990.

Bill, also known as the 'Old Man' was an U.S. Army veteran; a member and former president of the Darby Pidgeon Club and an avid Pidgeon Flyer for over 60 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting pool, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was husband of the late Julia T. Umstetter Gieder who passed in 1997.

Bill is survived by his children, William G. Gieder, Jr., John R. Gieder (Millie), Patricia A. Gieder, Sharon M. Higgins (Thomas) and Debra L. Neerland (Richard); 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
