William M. Dougherty, 82, of Folsom died on October 20, 2023.  Born in Darby, the son of the late Joseph and Blanch Smith, he lived in Darby before moving to Folsom 67 years ago.
William was a graduate of Ridley High School, class of 1961 and was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church and Knights of Columbus 4518 Peace Council.  He had been employed as a sheet metal assembler at Boeing for 32 years taking part in building the first V-22 Osprey aircraft , before retiring in 2011.  William was a die-hard Ridley Raiders football fan that never missed a game even on the coldest days and was also an avid Philadelphia Sports fan.  He enjoyed working on cars, had a strong passion for music, movies and spending time with his family at the beach in Wildwood, NJ.  Most importantly, he was a devoted husband of 60 years to his high school sweetheart and to his family, especially his cherished grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy M. Baroni Dougherty, father of William J. Dougherty (Sharon), Stephen M. Dougherty (Tina), Dawn M. Kardos (Ken) and Doreen A. Whittaker (Brian) and grandfather of Jason Dougherty, Matthew Dougherty, Kenny Kardos, Michael Kardos, Ella Duppstadt and Ava Whittaker.
Funeral Liturgy 11 AM Monday, October 30, 2023 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call after 10 AM.  Burial private.
