Obituary

William J. "Bill" Chandlee 65 of Ridley Park passed on July 23, 2014, peacefully surrounded by family and friends to be with the Lord.

Born in Philadelphia, Bill lived in Sharon Hill before moving to his late residence 20 years ago.

He last worked for I.A.M. (International Association of Machinists) as a Business Agent for eight years and previously as a Ramp Agent for USAirways for 31 years.

Bill was a retired union leader for both the Teamsters and I.A.M. He dedicated his life to his family and to the union movement, organizing and representing Airline workers across the country.

Bill was a graduate of Bonner High School, class of 1966 and St. Joseph University. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. Bill was a member of the Church of St. Madeline, the American Legion and the Teamsters. He was a Philadelphia sports fan, a memorabilia collector and loved the Florida beach.

He enjoyed time spent with his loving wife, children and especially his grandchildren.

He was son of the late Charles W. and Irene Bushak Chandlee and brother of the late Charles Chandlee.

Bill was husband of Susan DeMarco Chandlee, his wife of 37 years; father of Christa Oakes (Brian), Casey Chandlee and Matthew Chandlee; Pop Pop to Justin, Jackson, Olivia and the late Keira; brother of Charlene McHugh. Also survived by his sister-in-law Beverly Chandlee; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass 10:00AM Saturday, July 26, 2014 at
the Church of St. Madeline, Penn St. and Morton Ave., Ridley Park where friends may call 8 to 9:45AM. Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
