William W. Carroll, 78, of Woodlyn died on March 3, 2023.  Born in Chester and raised in Brookhaven, he was son of the late Walter J., Jr. and Alice Ryan Carroll.

William was a graduate of St. James High School, class of 1963, and Widener University.  He was a proud veteran of the US Navy.  William was last employed as a professor at Delaware County Community College and had previously taught in the New York State Education System.  He was a member of the Ridley Park Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Busy Bodies.  He volunteered at Tree of Life for the Disabled and enjoyed watercolor painting, flying and traveling.

He was father of David J. Carroll (late Joan), grandfather of Steven W. Carroll and David J. Carroll, Jr., brother of Susan Moses (Bill), Nancy Frank (Peter) and the late Michael Carroll, brother-in-law of Donna Carroll, uncle of Michael P. Carroll (Adria), Carrie Olsen (Michael), Shannon DiFonzo (Gregory), Daniel Carroll (Megan), Kathy Huntzinger (Mike), Bill Moses, Jr. (Bettina), Kevin Moses (Marsha), Peter Frank (Rose), Julie Frank (Ed), Timothy Frank and Susan Frank.

Memorial Service 12 noon, Friday March 10, 2023 at Ridley Park Presbyterian Church, 300 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA  19078, where relatives and friends may call after 11 AM.  Burial private.
