William E. Bruton 85 of Milmont Park, died February 10, 2016 at Taylor Hospice Residence. Born and raised in Chester, he has lived at his late residence for the past 60 years.


He was Assistant Treasurer at Beneficial Savings Bank for 35 years.


Bill graduated from St. Robert's School, St. James High School in 1947 and Xavier University in 1954 with a B.A. Degree in Business.


He was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church and the Holy Name Society. Bill also served as a Lector for many years. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Peace Council and served as the Judge of Elections. Bill was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan and enjoyed gardening. He was an all-around great guy who will be missed by his loving family and his many friends.


Bill was husband of the late Elizabeth A. "Betteann" Gallagher Bruton, his wife of 52 years, who died in 2006; son of the late Aloysuis and Elizabeth McGinley Bruton; and brother of the late Mary Snyder, Aloysuis, Robert and Emmanuel Bruton.


He is survived by his ten children Kevin A. Bruton (Carolann), Elizabeth A. Suplee (Late James), Charles J. Bruton (Virginia), Mark E. Bruton (Mark Chando), Edward W. Bruton (Francine), Kathleen Smith (Dale), Paul E. Bruton (Heather), Matthew S. Bruton (Kathleen), William E. Bruton, Jr. (Amanda) and Eileen M. Lynch (Daniel); also his brother Edward Bruton; 29 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.


Funeral Mass: 11:00 AM Monday at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 208 Milmont Ave., Milmont Park, PA.


Visitation: 5:00-8:00 PM Sunday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA and 9:30-10:30 AM Monday at the church


Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery
