William B. "Brad" Blackman, 56, lifelong resident of Swarthmore, died June 28, 2020 at Lankenau Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Jackson Farr and Priscilla Giles Blackman.
Brad was a graduate of Swarthmore High School, class of 1981 and he attended DCCC for EMT and Paramedic training. He was employed by American Medical Response, AMR, for the last four years as a Paramedic. Brad previously worked for Crozer Keystone Health System. He was a member of Swarthmore Presbyterian Church and the Swarthmore Fire and Protective Association, where Brad served as an officer. He volunteered with Lima Fire and EMS, Garden City Fire Co. and the Chester City Dive Team. Brad also participated with the Muddy Angels for the East Coast National EMS Memorial Bike Ride.
He is survived by his brother, Andrew Blackman; and his cousins, David and Linda Rogers, Jean Sinz (her children, Joshua Sinz and Megan Gray) and Gale Schober.
On Thursday, September 10, 2020 a Memorial Procession will begin at 1 PM, starting from the CADES School (401 Rutgers Ave., Swarthmore, PA) and will progress to the Swarthmore Borough Hall/Amphitheater. (Those wishing to send apparatus will be asked to limit to one per company, please contact

and plan to arrive by 12:30PM.) At 2 PM a Memorial Service will take place at the Swarthmore Borough Hall\Amphitheater with the ringing of the bell. There will be food afterwards at the Swarthmore Fire Company. Please RSVP to the
