Wilford T. "Wolf" Chartier, 99 of Ridley Park died on May 29, 2026 at his home. Born in Chester, the son of the late Felix and Ora Benoit Chartier, he lived in Milmont Park before moving to Ridley Park in 1981.
Wolf was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1948 and proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Before his retirement in 1984, he enjoyed a long career as an Electrician at the Sun Company and had previously worked at Baldt Anchor. Wolf was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church and was a former member of Knights of Columbus de La Salle Council No. 590. He enjoyed woodworking, playing golf and watching the Phillies and Eagles, but most important was time spent with his family, especially playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wolf also appreciated the kindness and thoughtfulness of his beloved neighbors.
He was the loving husband of the late Gladys R. Hall Chartier who died on October 19, 2014 after 67 years of marriage, the father of Debra Smith (Frank), Denise Robinson and the late Nancy Day, brother of the late Jeanette Perkins, Irene Higgins, Norman Chartier and Ernest Chartier, grandfather of Kelley Day, Christopher Day, Matthew Smith (Christine), Gregory Robinson (Anne), Amanda Frett (Joseph) and Kimberly Robinson and he was the great-grandfather of Alexandra and Jackson Smith, Annabelle and Cody Robinson and Olivia and Joseph Frett.
Funeral Mass 11 AM Thursday, June 11, 2026 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone where relatives and friends may call after 10 AM. Private Inurnment Services including Military Honors, will be held at a later date at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to St. Rose of Lima Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA 19022 would be appreciated.
