Wilda M. "Billie" Caton McCormick, 89, of Avondale, died August 16, 2014 at her home. Born in Frackville, PA, daughter of the late Charles W. and Josephine Dunn Caton, she lived in Wilmington, DE for 16 years prior to moving to her late residence 29 years ago.




Billie graduated from Frackville High School, class of 1943 and was a member of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother. She was an avid 76ers fan, loved to dance and go on cruises. Most of all, Billie loved spending time with her family.




She was wife of the late Joseph F. McCormick, who died March 27, 2007 after 59 years of marriage; mother of the late James McCormick (Patricia); and sister of the late Merle Taylor, Charles Caton, Claire Caton, Ruth Turner, Helen Stark and Vaughn Caton.




Survivors: mother of Karen Wray (Bob), Joseph McCormick, Jr., Robert McCormick (Maria), William McCormick (Denise) and Charles McCormick (Sharon); sister of Gene H. Caton and Elva McCoy; sister-in-law of Mary Jane Caton;she is also survived by 13 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.




Funeral Mass: 10 AM Thursday at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford, PA, where friends may call from 8:30-9:45 AM.
