We give thanks to God for the life of Virginia Lydia Young (nee Fichter).

Born November 8 ^th , 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA, she returned to her Savior on November 4 ^th ; days short of her 92 ^nd birthday. Beloved wife of the late Richard M. Young Sr., she is survived by her two sons, Richard Jr. and the Reverend David (Kathy). She will be fondly missed by her six grandchildren: Amy (Adam) Jajtner, Rachel (Maurice) Henderson, John (Alyssa) Young, Daniel (Brianna) Young, Matthew Young and Hannah Young and her 5 great-children (Landon, Leia, Leo, Eli and Zoe). She was preceded in death by twin daughters Deborah and Dawn; her parents William and Dorothy Fichter, brothers Edward and William, her three nephews and a niece.

A resident of Ridley Park, PA for more than 55 years, Virginia worked for many years at Ridley Middle School cafeteria and for the Ridley Township Police as a crossing guard. Her previous occupations included assistant manager at Burger King in Ridley Park and as a long-time manager for Woolworths. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Blue Bell, PA and enjoyed her time serving the Ridley Football and Wrestling Boosters.

Virginia had a caring nature and a wonderful sense of humor which she employed as a devoted wife, supportive mother, doting grandmother, and great-grandmother. She knew Jesus as her Savior and through that love, she loved those around her. Those who worked with her knew her as a dedicated yet fun co-worker who enjoyed the life God gave her and was quick to make anyone laugh and feel welcomed. As her health declined, her greatest regret was that she could not be there to help her neighbors or be with her family in church. As her friends who signed her High School yearbook often wrote:

"To Virg, a real swell gal!"

A graveside interment service is planned with details to follow.
