Virginia E. "Tootsie" McLaughlin Weaver (nee Hoyt), 80, of Coral Springs, FL, Millsboro, DE and Ridley Park, died January 13, 2019. Born in Darby, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Ellen McFadden Hoyt.
Virginia was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1956 and was employed by Pennsylvania Railroad/Conrail as a Secretary for 43 years before retiring in 1999. She was a devout Catholic and was widowed at a young age. Virginia proudly and tirelessly raised her two children. In 1991, she met Wayne through a blind date and it was love at first sight. She married Wayne and they enjoyed boating and hosting neighbors and friends every Friday night in Florida and Millsboro, DE. Most important to Virginia was her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry "Herky" McLaughlin, who died in 1977; and her siblings, Eileen Rothermel, Catherine Laird, Mary Ann Robertson and Robert E. Hoyt.
Virginia is survived by her husband of 25 years, Anthony Wayne Weaver; her children, Catherine E. Callahan (Peter) and Neal R. McLaughlin (Jennifer); her step children, Wayne Weaver (Donna) and Joyce Chilcote; 11 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Visitation: 9:15-10:15 AM Friday, January 18, 2019 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 AM Friday at the Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park, PA.
Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery
