Virginia Elser Burbage (nee Bryan) 90 of Aston, died on January 13, 2021 at home with her family by her side.
Born in Camden, NJ, she grew up in Ridley Park and Collingdale before moving to Aston 70 years ago.
She worked at Orthodontics Associates of Springfield for 27 years, retiring in 1995.
Virginia was a member of The Church of St. Joseph and their Ladies Guild, Chester Jaycees, Aston Historical Society, Women's Club of Aston and the Aston Town watch. She was a volunteer at Penn Delco PTL, the Red Cross Bloodmobile and previously was a Cub Scout leader.
She was a graduate of Ridley Park High School, class of 1948 and enjoyed sewing, decorating, reading, crafts, flower arranging and spending time at Cape May but most greatly cherished was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Virginia was the wife of the late George F. Elser, Jr who died in 1979 and the late Harold P. "Scotty" Burbage who died in 2015; daughter of the late Lyall William and Veronica Daniels Bryan, sister of the late Lyall Bryan and Mum Mum to the late Ashley Elser.
She is survived by her children, Lynn Schriver (Allan), Gail Hand (Raymond), Paul Elser (Laura), Susan Schuck, Karen Stay (Late Joseph), Mark Elser (Cathy) and Joyce Shellem (Late Peter); her stepchildren, Patricia Luis, Gary Burbage (Lora), Daniel Burbage and Timothy Burbage (Ginny); her siblings, Joan McNeal, Shirley West and William Bryan and 28 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Virginia's involvement in social activities was extremely commendable but her greatest legacy was her personal character. Her compassion, empathy, love and kindness were endless. Anyone who was blessed to know her was surely touched by Virginia in a positive way. Over the last several years, Virginia was blessed by the loving care of her children and grandchildren, especially her daughter Susan, granddaughter Cynthia and Cynthia's husband Pat. Virginia will remain forever in the hearts of all those who were blessed by her smile.
Due to COVID-19, services and burial will be private.
