He was born in Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Domenico Antonio Savini and Pasqualina V. Savini.
Vince was a member of Ridley Township High School Class of 1959 and he enjoyed attending reunions to see his old classmates and friends. He had the honor of serving his country in the United States Army from 1960-1962 and the Army National Guard from 1964-1967.
He was a second-generation Italian American whose family immigrated from the Abruzzo region. He enjoyed attending events held by Associazione Regionale Abruzzese-Delco, an Italian heritage group out of Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
He raised his family in Delaware and worked as a refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic and was a member of the plumbers and pipefitters union, UA Local 74. He enjoyed talking about his work. He was always available to help his family and friends by sharing the vast knowledge that he acquired during his career.
Vince loved to talk and loved sharing his interests with everyone. He enjoyed telling stories and making people laugh. He had a talent for entertaining people. He often talked about his younger days playing music, his adventures in the military, and traveling through Europe.
Vince liked to spend his time playing golf, shooting, and building model airplanes. He also enjoyed watching television and movies. He would often talk about anything related to world history. He was particularly interested in military history. Vince loved big band music and especially enjoyed Frank Sinatra, Tommy Dorsey, and Benny Goodman. Vince would often spontaneously erupt in song during conversations. He would often recall old movies that he saw in the theater when he was a boy and loved westerns, Star Wars, Marvel movies, and had a vast knowledge of Korean/Japanese historical dramas. He also loved watching the Philadelphia Eagles and was glad he was able to watch them win the Superbowl.
He cherished sharing his time with his family and friends. He was proud of his grandchildren and often attended school and sporting events. He provided encouragement, celebrated achievements, and experienced joy with his family and friends.
As he aged, he enjoyed watching as his great-grandchildren played and learned new skills. He would play with them even though it took a lot out of him. He was also thankful for the many wonderful friends that he made while living in Florida.
