Vincent D. Melchiorre, 89, of Norwood died on June 16, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.  Born and raised in Chester, the son of the late Peter and Mary DiPaolo Melchiorre, he had been a resident of Norwood for the past 30 years.
Vince was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1952 and was employed as a machinist by Grief Brothers before his retirement in 2004. After retiring he worked as a lifeguard at the Chester and Ridley YMCA's.  Vince was also a blood donor for the American Red Cross and enjoyed biking, fishing, traveling and his Honda Gold Wing.  He always loved family gatherings, especially during the holidays, but most important was his cherished grand and great-grandchildren.
He was the loving husband of Marianna "Marian" Sacco Melchiorre, father of Linda A. Peticca-Jackson (Kenneth), Vincent J. Melchiorre (Karen) and Donna Melchiorre, Pop Pop of Vincent, Serena, Amanda (George), Joey (Sara) and the late John Anthony Peticca, also Poppy of Ronin, Connor and Makenna; also brother of Joseph Melchiorre and the late Josephine Novak, Merlanda Cogan Reid and Pearl Melchiorre.
Funeral Mass 11 AM Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at St. Gabriel's R.C. Church, 233 Mohawk Ave.Norwood where relatives and friends may call 9:45 to 10:45 AM.  Burial private.
