Vincent James Manera Sr., 87 of Sebastian Florida, passed away on March 20, 2024, at St. Francis Reflections Hospice Care Center, Melbourne Florida. He was born in Messina, Italy, coming to America in 1948, son of the late Rosario and Rosaria Mancuso Manera. He was loved by many nicknames including Jimmy, Jim, Vince, Vinny, Pop Pop, Dad, and Uncle Jim.
Vincent was a graduate of Ridley Township High School in Folsom, PA. He proudly served in The Army of the United States and received an honorable discharge in 1962. Jimmy spent over 20 years with Sun Oil Refinery in Marcus Hook before retiring as a Refinery Operator. Jimmy spent his earlier years in Ridley Park, PA before relocating to Florida and New Jersey to enjoy his retirement.
He was a devout member of the Church of St. Madeline and found joy in various hobbies including gardening, traveling, cooking and home improvement projects. Known for his generosity, Jimmy loved sharing his garden with others, especially his beloved figs.
Above all, Jimmy cherished spending time with his grandchildren, children, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maryann Lopaczynski Manera, after 46 years of marriage.
Jimmy is survived by his children: Vincent J. Manera Jr., Lisa D. Manera, David J. Manera and Michelle A. Keller (Michael), grandchildren: Logan Manera, Brooke Manera, Michael Keller, Marissa Keller and Luke Manera, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister and one brother but leaves behind five sisters; also two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. He also leaves behind his companion Barbara Cavalier.
Funeral Mass: 11:00AM Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Avenue Ridley Park PA where relatives and friends may call 9:45 until 10:45AM.
Burial: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
