Vaughan R. Leckie 94 of Woodlyn died May 11, 2014 at Crozer Keystone Hospice at Taylor. Born in Plymouth, England he came to the United States in 1929 and lived in Levittown before moving to his late residence 40 years ago.
Vaughan was a Draftsman for the Philadelphia Naval Ship Yard and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during WWII and received the Purple Heart and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Star. He was a member of The Blue Church and enjoyed reading, history, walking and puzzles. Vaughan loved reaching out to people in need, but especially loved spending time with his family.
He was husband of the late Mary M. Lemon Leckie, his wife of 62 years, who died in 2007 and son of the late John A. and Louisa Rodgerson Leckie and brother of the late Viola LaPorta.
Survivors: his daughter Marilou S. Hill (Dwayne) and four grandchildren.
