Obituary
Thomas J. Tobin 91 of Ridley Park, died July 10, 2015 at his home.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was son of the late Thomas J. and Ellen Lauer Tobin and has lived at his late residence for 46 years.
He was last employed as a supervisor by the U.S. Postal Service in the Ridley Park office, retiring in 1985 and previously worked for Curtis Publishing Company.
Tom was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Boys, class of 1941 and a member of their Alumni Association. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during WWII on the USS Idaho Battleship and attended their Alumni Reunions. He was a member of The Church of St. Madeline where he volunteered with many activities years ago.
Tom loved bowling and spending summers in Cape May, NJ but most important to him was his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren, attending their activities and their interests.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Paulline M. Ellis Tobin; his daughters, Sally E. Aglidian (Hans), Mary C. Geiger (Phil), Rosemarie T. Savastano (George) and Anne M. Russell (Raymond); also his siblings, James Tobin, Catherine Sharkey, John Tobin, Charles Tobin and Rosemary VonEschenbach; his grandchildren Shannon (Alexander), Melissa, Thomas (Maureen), Amy, Geoffrey, Anthony, Michael and Kayla; also great grandchildren Delanie, Alexander and Cooper.
Funeral Mass 10:30AM Thursday, July 16, 2015 at The Church of St. Madeline, Penn St. and Morton Ave., Ridley Park where friends may call 9:15 to 10:15AM. Burial private.
