1934-2017



Thomas C. Phillips, 83, of Eddystone died peacefully April 27, 2017 at Wallingford Nursing Home after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born in Covington, VA, he was the son of the late Dorothy Haideman and Frank Phillips.



Thomas served in the US Army during the Korean War and taught heavy track vehicle maintenance at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds. He later settled in Pennsylvania with his wife, Doris. Thomas was the owner and operator of Charlie's Shoe Service in Media before retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Media Businessmen's Association, where he served as President. Thomas and Doris loved country dancing, performing with the group "Hook 'n Hitch" for several years, their grandchildren and wintering in Florida.



He is predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Doris Phillips (nee Cassidy).



Thomas is survived by his son, Thomas F. Phillips (Mary); his grandson, TJ Phillips; his granddaughter, Megan Dingle (Bobby); and many nieces and nephews
