Obituary

Thomas B. Parker, 70, lifelong resident of Aston died March 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Chester, he was the son of the late Benjamin H. and Betty L. LaValle Parker.

Thom was a graduate of Sun Valley High School, class of 1968, and was employed as a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service for 46 years before retiring.  He was a member of St. Paul's P.E. Church, where he sang in the choir and was a former member of the Vestry.  Thom began his masonic life with the Chester Chapter Order of DeMolay, was a member of Concord Lodge #625 F.&A.M. and the Nur Shrine of Delaware, where he was the Director of Colonials Fife and Drum Corps.  He also served as Shop Steward of NALC (Nat'l Assoc. of Letter Carriers).  Thom enjoyed spending time at Buttonwood Beach, but most important was family, especially his cherished grandchildren.

He was the loving husband of Martha "Marty" Waite Parker, his wife of 50 years; devoted father of Meredith E. Schmidt and Melanie R.B. Conner and her husband, Kenneth; brother of Larry C. Parker (Linda); cherished grandfather of Ryan and Mackenzie; and uncle of Derek Parker.
