Thomas P. Laverty 70 of Folsom, died October 2, 2014 at his home.
Born in Philadelphia and raised in Chester, Tom has lived at his late residence for the past 33 years.
He worked at Acme Markets for 32 years, until 1994. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Tom was best recognized riding his scooter in the Folsom area and known for his acts of kindness to others. He was dedicated to his family, especially his grandchildren and also loved going to the casinos.
Tom was son of the late Joseph and Thelma Sullivan Laverty and brother of the late Joseph F. and James M. Laverty.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Diane E. Anderson Laverty; his children Michelle E. McClay (Joseph), Teresa A. Shirley (Edward) and Joseph T. Laverty (Thaisa); his sister Mary Ann Sweeney (John) and seven grandchildren.
Funeral Mass 10:00AM Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church, 2130 Franklin Ave., Morton, PA.
Visitation 7 to 9PM Tuesday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park and Wednesday 9 to 9:45AM at the Church. Entombment Edgewood Memorial Park.
