Thomas I. Johnson, 67, of Aston died July 2, 2016 at Crozer Chester Medical Center as a result of an auto accident. Born in Ridley Park, he was the son of the late Harry LeRoy and Kathryn Iva Hartz Johnson, and resided in Collingdale before moving to his late residence 33 years ago.
Thomas was a graduate of Collingdale High School and served in the US Army during Vietnam as well as 20 years in the Army Reserves. He was a letter carrier in Collingdale for the US Postal Service for 39 years before retiring in 2010. Thomas was a member of Green Ridge Memorial American Legion Post 926 and enjoyed going to Cowtown and Harrah's Casino. He was known for his sand art at the 4th of July Festivities in Collingdale and Bailey was his favorite girlfriend.
Thomas was predeceased by his brother, Roy Johnson.
Survivors: husband to Elizabeth Fry Johnson, his wife of 41 years; father to Jaime Sweeney (Mike) and Robert Johnson (Allison); brother to Shirley Onuffer and Kenneth Johnson; and brother-in-law to Pat Johnson; also survived by his grandchildren, Nicole, Stephanie and Steven
