Thomas J. "Nuss" Nusspickel, 62, of Aston, died April 23, 2013 at Crozer-Keystone Hospice at Taylor Hospital. Born in Upper Darby, Mr. Nusspickel lived in Parkside prior to moving to his late residence 34 years ago.
Nuss was a graduate of St. James High School, Class of 1968 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a Reactor Operator at General Electric and previously held the same position at PECO, retiring in 2004. Nuss was a member of The Church of St. Joseph and the American Legion Post #926, Green Ridge. He had played softball and bowled for various teams and leagues in Delaware County and was an avid golfer (never had a hole-in-one). He also coached for the Aston Valley Baseball League and was entered into the Walk of Fame on Opening Day, April 6, 2013.
He was son of the late John and Mary Esher Nusspickel.
Survivors: his wife of 34 years, Regina Schukraft Nusspickel, father of Thomas (Kristin), Stephen, Christopher and Samantha Nusspickel, brother of Danny, Eddie, Michael and Marie Nusspickel and Theresa Wigle, grandfather of Kaitlyn and Kelli Nusspickel, also his in-laws Harry and Virginia Squire Schukraft.
Funeral Mass: 11 AM Saturday at The Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Rd., Aston
Visitation: 9:15 to 10:45 AM Saturday at the church.
Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery
