Thao Redding, 73 of Woodlyn died on April 13, 2026 at her home. Born in Vietnam, Thao, through immense hardship and sacrifice forged an amazing life defined by courage, resilience, hard work and an unwavering love for her family.
Thao was daughter to Vinh Hoang and Nguyen Thi Dieu. Thao was a devoted mother to five children and took tremendous pride in her eleven grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
Her strong work ethic led her to work her way up to serve as a cook at a beloved neighborhood Italian restaurant in Eddystone, PA. In her later years, her nurturing spirit found fulfillment as a home caregiver, where she touched many lives with compassion and kindness.
Her greatest legacy lives on in the strong, loving family she raised and the values of perseverance, and devotion she instilled in them.
She is survived by her 5 children: Morris (Susan) Redding, Rose (Brian) Sarkissian, Mary (Kenn) Barfell, Lee (Robert) Redding, Harry (Clarissa) Redding and her 11 grandchildren: Matthew, Aaron, Joshua, Kevin, Alexis, Brooke, Pierce, Casey, Ava, Bodhi and Kaia.
Her soul will rejoin her recently deceased husband, Edward (Butch).
Custom Buddhist Services (The 7th day to the 49th day) will be performed and held at the Chua Giac Lam Temple.
