Taylor Tilghman Redden of Morton, PA, formerly of Swarthmore PA, passed away on December 1, 2017 at age 72.
Born on March 2, 1945 to O. Tilghman and Virginia D. Redden, he was raised in Swarthmore PA. He graduated from Swarthmore High School in 1963 and went on to graduate from Philadelphia Musical Academy with a Bachelor of Music degree and a Performance Certificate with a major in Applied Music.
A prodigiously gifted pianist, he joined the Bryn Mawr Conservatory of Music piano faculty in 1970. In his 48 seasons at the Conservatory, he touched the lives of hundreds of students, inspiring them with his formidable knowledge of the piano literature and with beautiful demonstrations at the keyboard. He was devoted to his students and was unfailingly generous with his time and efforts.
Taylor was predeceased by his parents and brother, Richard S. Redden.
He is survived by his sister, Gail V. Redden.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Friday, December 8, 2017 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078, where friends may call after 10:00 AM.
Burial: Private.
