Suzanne Sweeney Lenz, 90, a lifelong resident of Ridley Park, died on August 5, 2022 at her home.

She was a graduate of Ridley Park High School, class of 1949 and attended Endicott College and also Sleepers Business School.  Suzanne was the oldest and longest living member of Ridley Park Presbyterian Church where she had been a member since 1945 and was ordained as a Deacon in 1986.  Her ministry of writing encouraging letters to friends, staff and congregation members was ongoing into 2021.  She was last employed at the Hobby Horse Shop in Ridley Park.

An avid tennis player, Suzanne played until she was 85 years old and also played in the Senior Olympics. She enjoyed sewing and was a member of Hearts to Hands Sewing Group.  Suzanne also enjoyed gardening, the Arts and theater.  She was also a sports fan and enjoyed watching golf and cheering her grandchildren's activities but most important to her was her family and many friends.

Suzanne was the daughter of the late Philip and Suzanne Griffith Sweeney; mother of the late Michael Lenz, who died in 2017 and sister of the late Gail Hassler.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Richard Lenz; her children Tara Galaydick (Stephen), Gail Ferrigno, David Lenz and Melinda Grugan (Jim); also, her grandchildren Bradley Galaydick, Jennifer Ferrigno (Michael Horowitz), Jamie Ferrigno and Jimmy Grugan.

Funeral Service 10 AM Thursday, August 18, 2022 at The Ridley Park Presbyterian Church, 300 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park. Burial private.
