Susan Stranix Schembs, 63, a lifelong resident of Ridley Park, died September 14, 2018 at Crozer-Keystone Hospice at Taylor. Susan was a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School, class of 1973. She worked at the Gas Light restaurant in Ridley Park for many years, where she loved serving and interacting with everyone in the community. She always had a witty remark and a smile for her customers, and never forgot a birthday. Susan took pride in all of her children's activities, she loved to see her children strive at what they did best. Spending time with her family was most important, especially with her grandson Evan, who filled her heart and days with love.
She was predeceased by her father Richard G. Stranix, and her brother James Stranix.
She was the loving wife of 43 years to Richard F. Schembs, devoted mother to Adam Schembs, Brooke Schembs Snyder (Michael), and Erik Schembs. Daughter of Frances Crossley Stranix, sister of Richard G Stranix, Jr (Debb), Thomas Stranix (Venee), Jeanne Stranix, Joseph Stranix (Susan), and Margaret Ross (Jerry). Grandmother of Evan Snyder, and also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral Mass to celebrate Susan's life at 10 AM Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave in Ridley Park, where friends may visit with family after 8:45 AM. Burial private.
