Sophie Simber (nee Testoni), of Havertown, died on December 23, 2014, at St. Francis Country House. Born in Chester, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Vera Testoni (proprietors of Testoni Bakery in Chester.) Sophie lived a number of years in Norwood and Broomall before moving to Havertown.
She attended St. Anthony's School and was a graduate of Chester High School. Sophie was a trained soloist and often sang at weddings before becoming a homemaker and raising three children. She later worked as a secretary for Dresser Industries and The Don Guanella School. For a time, she was a member of Parents Without Partners and edited the newsletter for a local chapter. Sophie loved music, sang with several choirs and enjoyed dancing.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Rosalind Millar; and her brothers Ernest Testoni and Albert Testoni.
Sophie is survived by her sons, Randy Siti (Anna) and Craig Siti (Diane); siblings, Victor Testoni and Lillian Guydos; five grandchildren; one great grandson; and her former, husband Albert Siti.
Memorial service: 12:30 PM Sunday, January 18, 2015, at the Blue Church, 940 Baltimore Pike, Springfield.
