Obituary

Samuel V. Moffa, 96 of Woodlyn died April 27, 2014 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, son of the late Salvatore and Carmella DiAvondi Moffa, he lived in Chester prior to moving to his late residence 52 years ago.

Mr. Moffa was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during World War II, receiving a Purple Heart Medal, American Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 8 Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal. Samuel was last employed as a Truck Driver by Ridley Township for 25 years, retiring in 1993 and had previously worked at Irving Worsted Mills. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a quiet man that would do anything for anybody.

He was husband of the late Edith A. Della Monica Moffa who died September 19, 2008 after 60 years of marriage.

Survivors: father of Jo-Ann Latissa and David Moffa, grandfather of Nicole Carpenter (John), Michelle Last (Josh) and Jennifer Latissa, also many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: 11 AM Friday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where friends may call 9:30 to 10:45 AM. Burial: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
