Salvatore D. Merola, 60, of Glenolden died on August 16, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. Born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Dominic and Angela (Perone) Merola, he lived in Southwest Philadelphia before moving to Glenolden in 1994.
Sal was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Boys, class of 1980 and was a former member of St. Clement's R.C. Church. He was retired from Danella Construction and then spent 14 years working at Grid One. Sal enjoyed dancing, playing pool, going to the casinos, but most important was his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a hard-working family man, who had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed a good party with family and friends.
He was the loving husband of 34 years of Dawn (Cartwright) Merola, father of Linda Merola-Pellak (Matthew), Nicole Cassidy (Philip) and Angela Drabik (Joseph), grandfather of Anthony Bullis, Anna Pellak, Olivia Cassidy, Michael Pellak and Arianna Drabik, brother of Philamena Rue (Richard) and Anna Fanelli, also survived by many nieces and nephews who he loved very much.
Funeral Mass 11 AM Monday, August 22, 2022, at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave, Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call 9:00 to 10:45 AM. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
