Salvatore F. "Sam" Sabot, 85, a lifelong resident of Eddystone, died on September 19, 2023. Born in Chester, he was the son of the late Frank and Cecelia DiGuiesspi Sabot.
Sam was a graduate of Eddystone High School, class of 1956 and received a bachelor's degree in education from West Chester State Teacher's College. He was a proud veteran of the US Army and taught 4th and 5th grade in the Chester-Upland School District at Main Street Elementary School. Sam was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church and American Legion Post #844 in Eddystone. He had previously served on Eddystone Borough Council and the Ridley School Board. Sam enjoyed playing softball, golfing, playing cards with his pinochle league, watching old western movies and attending his grandsons' sporting events. He also coached basketball and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, he also loved entertaining friends and watching the Phillies and Eagles at Sam's Club.
He was the loving husband of 55 years to Eileen Barrett Sabot, devoted father of Francis "Fran" Sabot (Ellen), Lorraine Adams (Keith) and Angela Sabot (Scott Dahms), cherished grandfather of Jake Adams and Landon Adams, brother of Roseann Fennell (late Tom), he is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Monday, September 25, 2023, at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone where relatives and friends may call 9:30 to 10:15 AM. Burial Lawn Croft Cemetery.
