Sallie Damon Seltzer

Sallie Damon Seltzer, 94 of Wallingford, formerly of Rose Valley passed peacefully at home on June 16, 2026. Born in Drexel Hill, she was the daughter of the late H. Gilroy and Virginia Price Damon.

Sallie was a graduate of Nether Providence High School, class of 1949 where she excelled as a star field hockey player. She had also attended Bradford Junior College and Pierce Business School.

Sallie enjoyed playing tennis and skiing in her younger years. She and Scott skied all over the U.S. and some in Europe. They took up sailing later on. They cruised their own boat all over the Chesapeake Bay and enjoyed charter boat sailing all over the world. In addition, they traveled pretty extensively as evidenced by the many “push pins” in their world map.

She served as Chairman of the Rose Tree Gardeners and Treasurer of The Gardeners of Rose Valley. She served as Chairman of the Rose Valley Folk, sang with The Valley Voices. and was a cofounder of the Rose Valley Museum and Historical Society. She was also a member of the Corinthian Yacht Club of Philadelphia and served on the Vestry of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Chester.

Sallie was well known for her knack of entertaining, she really knew how to organize and throw a party and in her social circle she was pretty famous for that talent! She chaired the committee that put on what was very likely the “party of the 20th century” at the Old Mill when she hired the Glenn Miller Band to play at the Rose Valley Folk’s Mortgage Burning Party.

She was the loving wife of the late C. Scott Seltzer, mother of Elizabeth E. Seltzer, Charles S. Seltzer, Jr., Peter D. Seltzer (Cheryl), S. Pennell Seltzer (Kellie) and Douglas E. Seltzer (Donna Laubach), sister of Emily Damon Williamson and the late H. Gilroy Damon, Jr., John P. Damon and William F. Damon, she is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Sallie's life is planned for Friday, July 10, 2026 at 2:00 at the Old Mill in Rose Valley. 9 Old Mill Ln, Rose Valley, PA 19063.
