Ruth A. Kirkwood (nee Morton), 101 of Whiting, NJ died on January 28, 2024.  Born in Chester, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ella L. Siegel Morton.
Ruth was a graduate of Nether Providence High School, class of 1940.  Before her retirement she was a teacher's aide in the Glynn County School District and had previously worked as a teacher for the County of Delaware at the Sleigton Farm School.  Ruth was a former member of Mount Hope United Methodist Church and was also a member of Mensa.  She always enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, biking and walking.  Ruth was also an artist that enjoyed painting with acrylics and also loved bowling and crafting.  But most important was her loving family.
Ruth was the loving wife of the late Willard C. Kirkwood, mother of Willard Charles Kirkwood (Marie C.) and the late Debra Clark, sister of the late Dorothy M. Morton and grandmother of Lea Beckett, Elizabeth Griffin, Patrick Griffin, Christopher LaCosta, Rebecca LaCosta and the late Stephen LaCosta.
Graveside service 11 AM Friday, February 9, 2024 at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4020 Concord Rd., Aston.
