Roy was a graduate of St. James High School, class of 1970.  He was a self-employed real estate entrepreneur.  He was a member of the Church of St. Madeline, and was active in Ridley Park politics, community events and served as a Committeeman in the First Precinct.  Roy enjoyed boating, fishing, and going to the Jersey Shore, but most important was his family, especially his cherished grandchildren.

He was the loving husband of 47 years to Sherry Finnegan Hickey, father of Dennis Hickey (Christa Mucerino) and Maureen Rose (Matthew), brother of David J. Hickey (Shelley), Carol A. Fortunato (Michael), Deborah H. Jaskot (William) and the late Thomas M. "Turtle" Hickey, Suzanne J. Sweeney and Dianne J. McCollum, grandfather of Dennis Hickey, Jr., Nicholas Hickey, Jackson Rose and Declan Rose, he is also survived by his sister-in-law Linda Hickey, and a large extended family.

Visitation 6:30 to 8:30 PM Wednesday, February 22, 2023 and 8:15 to 9:15 AM Thursday, Fe bruary 23, 2023 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park.  A Funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Thursday at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park.  Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
