Rose M. Ippoldo Thornton, 95 of Bear, DE died September 29, 2011 at Delaware County Memorial Hospital.

Born in Johnstown, PA she lived in Folsom before moving to her late residence thirteen years ago.
Mrs. Thornton was last employed at Jefferson Walnut Home Therapeutic and formerly worked for Glenby Corporation at Lit Brothers and Gimbles Department Stores.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church. Mrs. Thornton attended Charles Audenreid High School in South Phuladelphia and graduated from Chester Beauty Academy, and was also an avid reader.

Rose was the wife of the late James H. Thornton, her husband of 45 years at the time of his death on May 1, 1986 and daughter of the late Antonio and Carmela Mandrea Ippoldo.

Survivors; her children; Dorothy A. Parsons (Robert), James H. Thornton, Jr. (Madeline) and Kathleen Hutter (Jeffrey), also seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral Mass 10:30AM Tuesday at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 208 Milmont Ave., Milmont Park, PA 19033 where friends may call from 9:30 to 10:15AM. Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
