Rose Vail Sperone, 86, of Boothwyn died July 28, 2018 at her home. Born in Ridley Park, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Earl and Mildred Seber Vail and resided in Chester before moving to her late residence 62 years ago.

Rose was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1950 and attended Penn State University. She was employed as the Office Manager for the Delaware County Sheriff's Office for 20 years before retiring in 1992. Rose was a member of St. John Fisher R.C. Church and was an avid reader.

She met Harry Sperone in 1951 while he was home on leave then serving in the US Marine Corps. They were married on February 27, 1954 followed by a 64 year love affair that continued to the hour of Rose's passing. She was the devoted matriarch of the family who cared for and about everyone.

Rose was predeceased by her children, Baby Joseph Sperone, Deborah Johnson, who died in 1995 and Harry C. Sperone, Jr., who died March 6, 2017; and her siblings Earl Vail, Paul Vail, Thomas Vail, Doris Butler and Agnes Vail.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Harry C. Sperone; her granddaughters, Melanie Johnson Schuemaker and Amy Johnson; her great grandson, Matthew McCollum; her siblings, John Vail, Rita Catania, Mary Ann Vail, Robert Vail and Betty Wenger; and many nieces and nephews.
