1926-2018

Rose Marie Johnson, 91, a longtime resident if Swarthmore, died January 10, 2018 at Residence at Glen Riddle. Born in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late William Francis and Rosalma Blanchette Kane and resided in Swarthmore from 1969 until 2015.

Rose was a graduate of Marlborough High School and attended VESPA Art Design School in Boston. She was employed as a Librarian for Swarthmore College and previously worked as a secretary for John Hancock Insurance Company. Rose was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church. She was an accomplished artist and an active member of the League of Woman Voters. Rose enjoyed traveling and cooking and loved animals, especially her dogs. Rose's family would like to extend special thanks to her nurse, Brenda, for her kindness and care.

She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Lane J. Johnson, who died January 27, 2008.

Rose is survived by her son, Brian Kane Johnson (Eileen Bradley); and her siblings, William F. Kane, Jean Ann Kane Mobley and Robert J. Kane.
