Obituary

Rosalie Hayes (nee Dirren), 98, of Springfield, died on May 25, 2018 at Crozer-Keystone Hospice at Taylor. Born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Emil Joseph and Olive Alder Dirren, she lived in Ridley Park before moving to her late residence in 2012.

Rosalie was employed in the Salary Administration Department at Scott Paper Company for 18 years, retiring in 1982 and volunteered at Taylor Hospital for 28 years. She was a member of Christ Church Episcopal in Ridley Park and loved to read, but most important was her family.

She was loving wife of the late William H. Hayes, Jr., who died in 1961 and sister of the late Joseph Dirren, Frank Dirren, Kathryn Yockey and Stella A. Bross.

She was devoted mother to Arlene D. Long (Theodore) and Barbara B. Nissel (James), grandmother to Kellie Diamond, Christine Fromal, Stephanie Baroni and Nicole Tuohey, also eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Burial Rite and Eucharist 10 AM Thursday at Christ Church Episcopal, 104 Nevin Street, Ridley Park, PA 19078, where the family will greet friends from 9 to 9:45 AM. Burial Fernwood Cemetery.
