Ronald F. "Smokey" Smoluk, 75, of Swarthmore died on November 27, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Sharon Hill before moving to Swarthmore 31 years ago.
Smokey attended West Catholic High School for Boys and was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church where he also ran Bingo games. He was employed as a mail carrier at US Post Office in Wynnewood for 42 years before retiring in 2015 and also worked as a parking attendant at the Swarthmore Inn. Smokey was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed his home in Wildwood. He loved fishing, horseshoe tournaments and being with family and friends around a firepit. Ron also enjoyed going to the casinos and playing scratch-off tickets. He was known as a "Mr. Fixit" handyman but the most important part of Ron's life was his loving family.
Ron was the husband of 51 years to Margaret "Marge" Carver Smoluk, father of Christina Smoluk, Lyndi Butler (Matt) and the late Danielle Smoluk, grandfather of Kurt Hawkins, Jr., Michael Smoluk, Kalihea Wesley, Tahzea Wesley and Tracey Wright, great-grandfather of Tashay, Ryder, Evanis, Aurora, Seven and Honestly, he is survived by five siblings and predeceased by four siblings, he also has 3 sisters-in law, 3 brothers-in-law and was predeceased by a sister-in-law, he was also predeceased by the Sullivan's who raised Ron.
Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone where relatives and friends may call after 9:30 AM. Burial private.

All donations will go towards Inglis House's Therapeutic & Life Enrichment Program that provides residents, like Lyndi Butler, with activities such as art classes, trips, music therapy, and so much more that help meet each resident's social, emotional, and physical health needs.
