Robert Edward Weeks passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12 at age 89 with his loving family by his side.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Catherine (Murphy) and his three children, sons Robert Jr., James (Ann) and daughter Maryanne. He is also survived by his older sister Claire, his brother-in-law Tom and many nieces and nephews. Robert is pre-deceased by his sister Marie (Mimi) and his brother Jack.
Robert graduated from West Catholic High School in 1951 and attended Villanova University for two years prior to serving in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Robert was a long-time Delaware county resident and moved his family to Aston, PA in 1974. Robert served many customers and friends as a well-known bartender for 40 years. Most notably, Robert bartended at the historic Colony Hotel in Chester, PA until the mid 70's and then at the famous Media Inn. He retired in 1998 from the Fitzwater Company food brokers in Pennsauken, NJ.
Robert was a long-time Eagles season ticket holder and an avid golfer. He was a member at Penn Oaks Country Club and later became a distinguished Paxon Hollow Men's Club member.
Known for his quick wit and easy smile, Robert was a "true gentleman of class". Despite his modest height, friends and customers saw him as a much bigger man. He treated everyone with style and decency. Family and friends meant everything to him, especially his life-long love, Catherine.
Robert was a third-degree knight with the Knights of Columbus in Springfield, PA and his faith in God was his true foundation.
