IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert "Robbie"
W. Furlong
January 10, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved family member, Robert W. Furlong (Robbie), on January 10, 2023 from complications of ALS.
Robbie was born in London, UK, and lived in Ireland for several years. He began playing guitar at the age of 16 and soon became a musical prodigy playing all over the world. He worked with prestigious people including Johnny Reck, Slim Whitman and Diana Darvey, a singer from The Benny Hill Show. He also reached international recognition as lead guitarist on the hit song, Little Arrows (1968)
Because of his familial ties with Wexford, Ireland, he became an important part of the Irish community both here and in Ireland. With regards to his Stratocasters, he has been embraced by the people of Wexford as being known as an "Absolute Wexford Legend" and even playing guitar solos with his teeth!
Robbie is survived by his wife, Lea, and three stepsons, Bill ( Robyn ), Bryan ( Sian ) and Zach.
